Drive-By Shooting Suspect Arrested In Gwinnett

Gwinnett County Police says a Glock handgun with a modified switch was located at the suspect's home.

BUFORD, GA — A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred last month in Buford, Gwinnett County Police said Tuesday.

The shooting took place on May 5 in the 2900 block of Milltown Court. Police did not say if anyone was injured or killed in the shooting.

Investigators identified John Ikechkwu Osefo as a suspect and executed a search warrant at his home, police said.

At the home, police said they located a Glock handgun with a modified switch that turned the gun into a semi-automatic machine gun. Drugs were also found in the home, police said.

Osefo was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property, possession and use of an illegal machine gun, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession with the intent to distribute, police said.

Gwinnett County Jail records list Osefo's arrest date as Monday. He remained incarcerated Tuesday.
