Gwinnett Police Shoot Knife-Wielding Man

BUFORD, GA — Gwinnett County Police officers shot a knife-wielding man on Christmas Eve.

Police were called Saturday evening to an aggravated domestic situation on the 1400 block of Castleberry Drive, near Buford.

Once there, the officers were confronted by a man armed with a knife, according to a police news release.

During the confrontation, the officers shot the man several times.

They rendered first aid and the man was taken to the hospital via Gwinnett Fire Services. No officers were injured in the confrontation.

As is standard procedure, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called to conduct an investigation into the shooting.
