Interstate 85 Shut Down As Firefighters Battle Blaze

I-85 southbound is shut down two miles north of Hamilton Mill Road.

BRASELTON, GA — Part of Interstate 85 southbound was shut down Saturday afternoon as firefighters battled a woodland fire along the highway.

The large fire was on the southbound side of I-85, about two miles north of Hamilton Mill Road, between the Mall of Georgia and Braselton.

Fire officials said the blaze was believed to have started with a tractor-trailer fire.
