La Madeleine Cafe Coming to Mall of Georgia Area

The French-style bakery and cafe will open in Buford on March 31.

BUFORD, GA -- La Madeleine Country French Cafe, the chain known for its French-style bakery and cuisine, will open near Mall of Georgia this month.

The Dallas-based company's fourth cafe in Georgia will open on 1795 Mall of Georgia Blvd. on March 31, the company has announced.

“The Buford community has welcomed la Madeleine with open arms and eagerness,” company president John Cahill said in a news release. “We look forward to opening here with equal anticipation, as this announcement represents a significant step in our growth strategy.”

Across the street from Mall of Georgia, the Buford location will be a 5,200-square-foot restaurant that will include a large outdoor patio and large private dining room for special events.

It will be the first of 10 new La Madeleine locations that R. Hakim Corp., a San Antonio-based ownership group, will open throughout Georgia as part of a multi-unit agreement, the release says. Established in 1983, La Madeleine began offering franchises in 2012.

Known for its signature tomato basil soup and bakery items baked fresh daily, La Madeleine will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, from 6:30 a.m.-10 p.m.

On opening day, the Buford location will be hosting a Rompre le Pain (breaking bread) event, at which the first 100 guests in line at 6:30 a.m. will win a monthly supply of the brand’s fresh handmade breads for a year.
