The updated areas will include bathrooms, The Village, and the food court which will be renamed the "Dining Pavilion."

BUFORD, GA -- The Mall of Georgia's food court and The Village are set to undergo major renovations, according to a press release. Simon, the company that owns the mall, announced the upgrades on Aug. 3.

The food court, once renovations are done, will be named "The Dining Pavilion," and will include new seating areas, communal-style tables, new tile flooring, updated light fixtures and more.

Both the family and men's restrooms will be updated as well, including updated paint, modern fixtures and upgraded lighting. The updates follow a recent renovation of the women's room.

The Village, the outdoor area including a Cheesecake Factory, Marlow's Tavern and Tin Lizzy's Cantina, will also go through a big renovation. It'll be updated with a new fire pit, synthetic turf in the amphitheater and with "The Park," a play area for kids of all ages, the press release said.

The Village's upgrades will also include Adirondack chairs, accent lighting, LED lighting and a new sound system.

“Our goal is to continually evolve as a shopping, dining and entertainment destination, both for our local community and across the southeast,” said Mall of Georgia General Manager John DiCioccio.

“This renovation project further strengthens Mall of Georgia as one of the area’s premier landmarks and will ultimately provide our guests a next-level experience, whether visiting one of our coveted brands, dining in any of the top eateries or attending one of the many community events and live entertainment held in The Village area,” he said.

The project is set to be finished later in the year. The mall will remain completely open, as planners aim to "minimize shopper disruption."
