NFL's Jennings Gets Probation in Gwinnett Speeding Case

Chicago Bears cornerback Tim Jennings pleaded guilty stemming from a January traffic stop on I-85; police say he was going 99 mph.

Chicago Bears defensive back Tim Jennings, also a former University of Georgia star, received a 12-month probation and fined more than $1,000 stemming from his January traffic arrest in Gwinnett County.

The Gwinnett Daily Post reported Jennings pleaded guilty to reckless driving and speeding, according to the county solicitor’s office.

Jennings was arrested in early January after being clocked travelling 99 mph on northbound Interstate 85. Officers smelled alcohol during the traffic stop.

The Post reported, citing the incident report, that Jennings claimed he was late for his child’s parent-teacher conference. Jennings reportedly refused a breathalyzer test after failing a field sobriety test.

He was charged with DUI, speeding and reckless driving. He was released after posting bail of $2,711.
