Police: Domestic Dispute May Have Led to Fatal Apartment Shooting Near Buford

Gwinnett Police said officers were on scene at 10:20 p.m.

Gwinnett Police say a domestic dispute may have led to the shooting death of a man Thursday night at an apartment complex not far from the Mall of Georgia.

Police spokesman Cpl. Deon Washington said officers responded to a domestic call at 9:14 p.m. at Preston Hill Apartments at 2910 Buford Drive, where they met the man’s wife, and found him dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

The woman was taken to police headquarters for questioning, Washington said.

Investigators were still on scene late Thursday night.

The identities of the people involved have not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Police spokesman Cpl. Deon Washington said in a 10:20 p.m. email that the incident reportedly happened at the Preston Hill Apartments at 2910 Buford Drive, an area just south of I-85 and the mall.
