Police Investigating Homicide in Buford

BUFORD, GA -- Gwinnett County Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found at her Buford home with her disabled husband.

A family member called police at about 1 p.m. Tuesday, saying he had not heard from the victim lately, authorities said in a news release.

When the man went to check on her, he told police, he made contact with the woman’s disabled husband, then found her body inside the home.

Police responded to the scene, at 1072 Anthony Dr., and transported the husband to the hospital “due to his medical condition.”

Police described the victim only as a female in her mid-50s, saying her name would be made public later. They said no suspects had been identified as of Tuesday afternoon.

Police obtained a search warrant and were investigating the home Tuesday afternoon.
