Reasons to Plan a Visit to the Buford Corn Maze

The Buford Corn Maze opened during Labor Day weekend to start its fifth year of proving fall fun to the community. The maze is located on 4470 Bennett Road, just a half-mile east of I-985 (at exit 8).

Here are five reasons to schedule a visit:

• 1. The maze (of course): Five acres of "agrotourism" fun that's perfect for all ages.
• 2. The hayride: Circle the maze through the woods on a trail that's been extended this year.
• 3. Just for the kids: The corn box (like a sand box with getting sand all over the inside of your car) gives kids the experience of shelling corn with an old-fashioned hand crank. Also take in the (inflatable) "bounce house" and face painting.
• 4. Animal encounters: Say hello to goats, pigs and chicken, and don't miss the pony rides.
• 5. The Haunted Forest: Get scared for the Halloween season on Friday and Saturday nights, beginning Sept. 20. (Not for kids under 8)
