Restaurant Scores: Buford-Area McDonald's Fails Inspection
Among the violations was undercooking raw steak, according to the Gwinnett County health inspection report.

A Buford-area McDonald’s was cited for several violations, including undercooking meat and lack of managerial control in a failed health department inspection this week.
The fast-foot restaurant at 3210 Buford Drive was scored 63 (out of 100) after an Aug. 10 inspection. It was the first failed score for the restaurant dating back to 2005, according to health-department records.
The two previous scores for the restaurant were 93/A on April 28, and 84/B on Jan. 8.

Observations listed on the inspection report included:
- Person in charge not maintaining active managerial control over employees and establishment.
- Employee wearing gloves handling raw shelled eggs, employee removed gloves, donned new gloves to work with food and handled clean equipment. Redirected employee to wash hands.
- Multiple syrup bottles in front handwashing sink. Bottles removed from sink.
- Raw steak cooked to 148 F and 149 F. Product discarded. Raw beef must be cooked to 155 F for 15 seconds.
- Cold-held potentially hazardous foods not maintained below 41 F; no time controls/documentation in place.
- Health score posted at front service counter, more than 15 feet from main entrance.
- Ambient air of prep cooler at 66.5 F. Coolers must maintain an ambient air of 41 F or less and must maintain food at 41 F or less.
- Dishwasher not dispensing 50PPM chlorine (not in use at time of inspection).
A followup inspection will occur within 10 days.
