Wanted Buford Man Considered Armed and Dangerous (ICYMI)

The Georgia State Patrol is looking for a Buford man who is wanted for multiple offenses, including fleeing from police.

The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook that Ryan Van Hovey, 28, of Buford, was last seen around Ga. Hwy 365 and Mud Creek Road in Hall County in the early morning hours of Thursday, July. 16.
The sheriff’s office said Van Hovey is considered armed and dangerous.

If you see him or know his whereabouts call 911 or the Georgia State Patrol’s Gainesville office at 770-535-6922.
The Gainesville Times reported Van Hovey is wanted for several crimes, including armed robbery and drug possession in Gwinnett County. He also is wanted in DeKalb County.
The State Patrol told the newspaper Van Hovey sped away as troopers tried to make an unknown traffic stop around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. He led police on a high-speed chase in Habersham and Hall counties before bogging his car down in mud.
He then fled on foot.
A search of Van Hovey’s car found drugs, ammunition and body armor, the state patrol said, leading the agency to believe he is armed.
