Weekend Weather: You May Need Umbrella in Buford

May has been pretty dry so far in Georgia, but that could change this weekend, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

If you have outdoor activities planned, you might want to take along an umbrella.

Thunderstorms are in the forecast Friday night in Buford, with a 50-percent chance of rain Saturday and 50-percent on Sunday.

The weather service said we can expect lightning, gusty winds and small hail, but severe weather is not expected

Highs will be firmly in the 80s through the weekend.

• Saturday night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Southeast wind around 5 mph.
• Sunday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon.
• Sunday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65.
• Monday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 87.
