Woman Reportedly Drowns in Lake Lanier

A woman in her 60s died in an apparent drowning Sunday afternoon in Lake Lanier, according to media reports.

Hall County Deputies responded near 1:30 p.m. to an area off Woodlake Drive near Buford Dam, according to AJC.

Family members had pulled the woman from the water in a residential community in the area of Lakeview Drive, according to 11-Alive. She was pronounced dead at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

The sheriff’s office is trying to determine why the woman was in the water, according to AJC.
