122 Hands-Free Warnings Issued By Cherokee Sheriff's Office
The warnings were given out July 2-6 during a safety initiative conducted by deputies across Cherokee County.

CANTON, GA — The Cherokee Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Unit joined forces with other law enforcement entities last week to conduct a countywide weeklong safety initiative on roadways.
The Unit was aided by the CSO K-9 Unit, Motor Unit, Reserve Unit, Cherokee Marshal's Office and volunteers from its Uniform Patrol Division who all "showed exceptional teamwork in conducting the safety initiative," the sheriff's office said.
During the week of July 2-6, the Traffic Enforcement Unit focused on the updated Distracted Driving Law, newly-implemented Hands Free Law and violations such as following too closely, speeding and safety belts.
