2 Displaced In Cherokee House Fire
Firefighters found heavy flames and smoke when they arrived at the Cherokee County home.

BALL GROUND, GA — Two people were displaced after a large fire damaged their Ball Ground home Wednesday evening, according to Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services.
The blaze sparked around 6:30 p.m. at the home, fire officials said Thursday. An address was not provided.

They were able to quickly control the fire and conduct a search of the home, fire officials said.
Two adults were displaced and have received assistance, according to the fire department. No one was injured.

Fire officials said they have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
The Cherokee County Fire Investigations Team is overseeing the probe into the fire.
"Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services reminds residents to ensure they have working smoke alarms installed on every level of their home and to practice a home fire escape plan with all members of the household," fire officials said in a news release.
