2 Injured In East Cherokee Drive Fire
An explosion started at an East Cherokee Drive home Sunday, when a resident tried to light a stove, according to first responders.

CANTON, GA — Two people were injured in a structure fire Sunday evening at East Cherokee Drive near Water Tank Road, according to Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services.
The fire occurred around 6:45 p.m. at a single-story house, fire officials said. Three people were home at the time of the fire.
The man and woman that were injured were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

A power line was down and arcing when firefighters arrived, fire officials said.
Firemen shut off the home's gas supply and the power company shut off power, officials said.

According to the fire department, the residents were trying to light a stove when there was an explosion, which resulted in a fire. The cause is being investigated.
