Canton Fouth of July 2017 Fireworks, Parade, Weather Forecast

Canton's Fourth of July parade will begin at 5 p.m. July 4, and will circle the Riverstone area. Fireworks start at dusk.

CANTON, GA -- The city of Canton is gearing up for its 4th of July celebration, a popular event that brings a night of patriotic fun for the entire family.

Starting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, the Thomas M. Brady Post of the American Legion will hold its annual community parade with a new route. This year's parade will circle the Riverstone Shopping Center, and will be followed by a free concert featuring Anita and Party Life from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the city stage in the main parking lot.

The events will be topped off with the city's annual 4th of July Fireworks, will light up the skies at dusk.

Weather forecasts call for a chance of rain and thunderstorms Tuesday, but the National Weather Service says the best chances for storms will be between noon and 6 p.m. By Tuesday night, the chance of rain is 30 percent, and that will most likely happen before 7 p.m., letting fireworks displays go off as planned.

The parade route will begin on Riverstone Boulevard at Bluffs Parkway intersection at 5 p.m., and will continue south on towards Riverstone Parkway. The route will turn right on Riverstone Drive, -- the shopping center through-road that connects Riverstone Boulevard to Reinhardt College Parkway -- and right to go north on Reinhardt College Parkway.

Parade participants should arrive at Teasley Middle School at 151 Hickory Log Drive beginning at 3 p.m.
