Co-sponsored with Cherokee County Senior Services and the Cherokee County Volunteer Aging Council, the Adopt-A-Senior initiative is held each year for senior citizens who participate in the county’s Congregate Meals, Meals on Wheels and Homemaker Programs.
These residents can be “adopted” and receive a very special Christmas gift. The county has 300 seniors that need to be adopted this year, and it needs your help to fulfill that ambitious goal.

Donators will be assigned either a male or female and given a size. Residents are asked to purchase a cardigan sweater, $25 gift card (from Walmart, Target, Kroger, Khols, Belk, etc.) and a book of stamps.
Please provide the gift in a Christmas gift bag only -- no wrapped presents please. Label the gift bag with the gender and size before dropping off at Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency, 7545 Main Street, Building 200, Woodstock, Ga. 30188.
The adoption drive, which started Nov. 9, will run through Dec. 11. All gifts must be dropped off by Dec. 11.
