Alleged Police Impersonator Pulls Over Driver On I-575: Cops

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office said a male driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck pulled over a woman Sunday evening in Canton.

CANTON, GA -- The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is investigating a report of a man accused of impersonating a deputy when he pulled over a motorist Sunday evening along Interstate 575 in Canton.

A woman told the sheriff's office she was traveling northbound between exits 14 and 16 when a vehicle, described as a dark gray, two-door Dodge Ram truck, initially passed her, but slowed down and pulled behind her car.

The truck, which appears to be from model years from 2000 to the present, was equipped with flashing blue light, and its driver conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, agency spokesperson Sgt. Marianne Kelley said.

"The driver of the truck made contact with her, stating that he had pulled her over for impeding the flow of traffic," she added.

The male subject is described as a white male between 30 and 35 years old, about 6 feet tall and weighed between 180 and 200 pounds. He also had brown eyes, brown hair in a crew-cut style, and was wearing dark-colored, fatigue-style pants and a black T-shirt with a "Punisher" emblem on the front, Sgt. Kelley added.
