Asia Stawicka Named YMCA 2014 Volunteer of the Year

Asia Stawicka of Canton will receive the YMCA of Metro Atlanta's 2014 Volunteer of the Year award.

ATLANTA (Oct. 24, 2014) — Asia Stawicka of Canton will receive the YMCA of Metro Atlanta’s 2014 Volunteer of the Year award for her service at the G. Cecil Pruett Community Center Family YMCA. She will be honored at the annual volunteer recognition dinner Monday, November 10, 2014.

Stawicka coaches volleyball and assists coaches with practices, runs the skills clinic every Friday night and referees during games on Saturdays.

“Volunteering at the Y gives me satisfaction and joy,” said Stawicka. “I can have a huge impact on children’s lives by trying to be a role model and the best coach I can possibly be. Time invested in kids is never wasted, and one day, they will be able to use the skills they have learned on the volleyball court and in their lives.”
