Back To School: Cherokee County 2021-22 School Calendar
Parents in Cherokee County can mark the first day of school coming next week.
CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — Back-to-school planning has already begun in our area, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Cherokee County.
The first day of school for most students in Cherokee County is on Monday, Aug. 2.
Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in Cherokee County.

In a letter to the community, Cherokee Schools Superintendent Brian Hightower said that the district is returning to pre-pandemic school operations, due to Gov. Brian Kemp ending the Public Health State of Emergency.
Staff and students are not required to wear masks in Cherokee County schools or offices at any time, but can choose to wear them. The district will continue to provide disposable masks to individuals who might request them.

- Labor Day Holiday: Sept. 6
- School Holiday: Sept. 20-24
- Professional Learning Student Holiday: Oct. 11
- Professional Learning Student Holiday/Election Day: Nov. 2
- Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 22-26
- Winter Break: Dec. 20- Jan. 3
- First Day of Second Semester: Jan. 4
- School Holiday: Jan. 17
- School Holiday: Feb. 21-25
- Spring Break: April 4-8
- Last Day: May 27
