Ball Ground Tour of Homes Set For Dec. 3

The Ball Ground Business and Community Association will feature five homes in and around the area as well as its Christmas Shoppe.

BALL GROUND, GA -- The Ball Ground Business and Community Association will host the Ball Ground Tour of Homes as well as the popular Christmas Shoppe on Saturday, Dec. 3.

This year's tour which will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will include five homes decked out for the holiday season. The homes include historic, craftsman style, traditional and farmhouse residences.

The homes on the tour will be the A.W Roberts home, which is on the National Register of Historic Homes, Stefanie Joyner’s Craftsman style home, Brenda and Ray Rogers’ home in Mountain Brooke, Sue and John Urbaitis’ home in Preserve at Long Swamp Creek and Kathy and Marshall Day’s farmhouse off Ball Ground Road.

This year’s Christmas Shoppe is open to the public as well as Tour of Homes guests, and will be located in the historic home located at 185 A.W. Roberts Drive. Local vendors are presenting a wonderful array of quality and unique gift ideas, apparel and keepsakes for folks seeking fresh and thoughtful gift options. Items available for sale will include teas, pottery, glass art, lotions, soaps, honey, apparel for all ages, and horseshoe art, as well as many other interesting finds.

Tickets for the tour of homes are currently on sale for $20 each at the following locations:

  • Piece of Time Ceramics, 205 Gilmer Ferry Road, Ball Ground;
  • Ball Ground Hounds, 215 Gilmer Ferry Road, Ball Ground;
  • Ball Ground Pharmacy, 470 Valley Street #100, Ball Ground;
  • Chef Rosario’s Italian Kitchen, 270 Gilmer Ferry Road;
  • Martin’s General Store, 340 Gilmer Ferry Road; and
  • Cherokee County Historical Society Museum, 100 North Street, Canton.

Tickets can also be purchased on the Association's website. Ticket prices the day of the tour will be $25, so be sure to get yours early.

Proceeds from ticket sales will be used by the Association to provide funding for community outreach programs, including a program which awards a scholarship annually to a deserving Ball Ground senior graduating from Creekview High School to assist with higher education expenses.
