CANTON, GA — Beginning next week, motorists who rely on a major thoroughfare on the western side of Cherokee County will want to map out another route. That's because Bells Ferry Road will close to through traffic from Sixes Road to Ridge Road for a road project.

The road will be closed from June 13 to July 31 for an intersection reconstruction and realignment associated with the Bells Ferry Road at Ridge Road Intersection Improvement project, Cherokee County said.

A posted detour will be provided during the duration of the construction. The detour route utilizes Sixes Road and Ridge Road.
