SEVIERVILLE, TENNESSEE- On September 28-29 2017, twelve Cherokee Charter Academy (CCA) Beta Club students went to the Beta Leadership Summit held at Wilderness in the Smokies. The Beta Club Summit is a conference that brings Beta Club students together from different schools each year. This conference allows students from 4th-12th grade to bond and learn about leadership. The summit is designed to impact young students to strive for success and to spread positivity throughout our community.
CCA sent two teams of students to participate in two different events. One of the events was a junior rapid response, where they had to complete a task that involved memorization.

The second event was called the service snapshot. In this event, team members had to create a service project to help the community. During this event, three judges walked around the conference room and observed each service project. Each judge asked the group members a question about their service project.
Members of the CCA Service Snapshot team presented their project called Hurricane Boxes of Love, which donated boxes filled with either school supplies or hygiene products, to the victims of Hurricane Irma. The members were able to generate over 100 boxes of love through donations from students, parents, and staff members of CCA! Ariel Fulmore, a member of the service snapshot team was ecstatic about their service and reward for making nationals. “I am very proud of the team because we made a commitment to help others and were rewarded!”

Fortunately, because of the team’s hard work and dedication to helping others in the time of need, they were awarded an opportunity to go to Savannah, GA to the Beta Club National event, which will be held in June. Go Tigers!
