Bites Nearby: Tuscany Italian Restaurant

This week's review is a restaurant that has been around for a few years. It has changed locations in the last year. Serving Italian food and a great view from up on a hill, AroundAbout-TownLaker has voted the "Best Italian Restaurant" for five years in a row.

Overview: Tuscany is located in Towne Lake near a movie theater on the hill. The former location was in a strip mall across the street. Tuscany now has a spacious restaurant with outdoor seating and great views. It specializes in Northern Italian cuisine.

Décor: The interior of the restaurant is a rustic and inviting décor reminiscent of an old Italian kitchen. The windows inside show a view of the wonderful Cherokee County. The outside is also inviting, with terra cotta planters and a patio.

Entrees: The dinner entrees are made with the freshest ingredients. Tuscany has gnocchi on the menu, which I love. If you’ve never tried it, it’s an Italian-style dumpling made with mashed potatoes and covered in sauce. The chicken marsala is delicious with fresh mushrooms and a marsala sauce covering a lightly breaded chicken filet. The chicken parmesan is also a hit. The meals come with a tossed salad served homemade garlic rolls. Prices for entrees range from $10 to $20.

Service: Service was friendly and quick. On a previous visit, I had some problems presenting a coupon. More recently, Tuscany seemed to have fixed the problem.

Hours: Tuscany is open everyday for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. as well as Thursday through Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for dinner.
