Body Found In Outbuilding At Cherokee Home

CANTON, GA — Cherokee County authorities say a body found in an outbuilding at a Land Road home Thursday had been there for several days.

Deputies responded to the home in the Clayton community around 4 p.m. after a 911 caller reported finding the body inside the outbuilding, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said Friday.

Authorities said they are currently unable to identify the body due to its condition. A cause and manner of death were not released.

The body was taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab, where an autopsy is being conducted.
