Cherokee County Republican Women to Host Gubernatorial Candidate Forum April 9

CANTON, GA — The Cherokee County Republican Women (CCRW), in partnership with the Cherokee Young Republicans and the Allatoona Young Republicans, will host a Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Forum on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Historic Cherokee County Courthouse in downtown Canton.

This highly anticipated forum will feature leading Republican candidates for governor and provide voters with an opportunity to hear directly from those seeking to lead the state of Georgia.

Confirmed candidates include:

• Clark Dean
• Brad Raffensperger
• Ken Yasger
• Chris Carr

Invitations were extended to additional gubernatorial candidates in February and March. While not all were able to participate due to scheduling conflicts, CCRW appreciates the level of interest in engaging with Cherokee County voters.

The evening will begin with a meet and greet at 5:15 PM, followed by the forum at 6:00 PM. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with candidates prior to the moderated discussion.

The forum will follow CCRW’s well-established format:

• Opening statements from each candidate
• Questions from members of the press
• Audience-submitted questions, vetted for relevance and fairness
• Closing statements

“These forums continue to draw strong community interest and provide a respectful, informative environment for voters to hear directly from candidates,” said organizers. “We are especially grateful to the Cherokee Young Republicans and Allatoona Young Republicans for their partnership and efforts in helping secure candidate participation.”

The event is free and open to the public, though seating is limited and early arrival is encouraged.
