Canton Creek Bridge Will Close For 1 Week For Repairs

Canton, GA -- Residents and motorists alike should take note of a bridge closure that could have impact on traffic.

The bridge over Canton Creek on Marietta Road will close at 10 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14 for repairs. The structure will be closed through Feb. 21, the city of Canton said Monday.

Residents and businesses in the area may experience some increased noise in the early evening hours and possible traffic delays in the area throughout this time.

Detours will be in place until the repairs are complete, and crews will work around the clock until the task is done.

Residents heading northbound on Marietta Road can take Hickory Flat Highway towards Interstate 575 as one detour. For those heading southbound away from downtown Canton, you can turn left on Dr. John T. Pettitt Street and right on East Main Street to access the Interstate.

Also, please note that during this time, “every effort will be made to maintain pedestrian access,” the city added.
