Canton Election Results 2019: Grant Projected Mayor
Live results: Voters in Canton have decided city council races. Unofficial results show Grant as the new Canton mayor.

CANTON, GA — Unofficial election results Tuesday night showed Bill Grant as the new mayor of Canton. In the City Council races, incumbents JoEllen Wilson kept her seat in Ward 1, and Shawn Tolan returns to Ward 2. Incumbent Farris Yawn was narrowly beat by competitor Brooke Schmidt for the Ward 3 seat.
Totals show Grant received 1,939 of the more than 2,600 votes cast for mayor.
Wilson took 1,465 of votes for Ward 1, with her competitors Bob Reilly getting 515 votes, and Kathy Strom 474 votes.

Tolan, who was unopposed, received 1,999 votes.
Schmidt took 1,314 of the votes, narrowly beating incumbent Yawn who received 1,201 votes.

Out of the more than 17,000 registered voters in Canton, 2,621 people voted, or 14.8 percent.
The Nov. 5 Canton City Council election was for mayor and Ward 1, 2 and 3.
