Historic downtown Canton on Saturday will become a patriotic celebration of our nation’s Independence Day as the city prepares to host its annual July 4th festivities.

The city will kick off the fun with its latest First Friday installment on July 4 instead of July 3.
Residents can venture into downtown from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. where they will be greeted with music by A1A (the official Jimmy Buffet tribute band), food and fun.

On Saturday, American Legion Post 45 will host its annual July 4th parade, which will make its way through downtown Canton starting at 7 p.m.
The parade will start at Auto Zone on Waleska street and head east onto West Main Street, continue onto East Main Street towards the Cherokee County elections office, turn left onto North Street and return to its starting point.
Topping off the weekend’s events will be the annual fireworks display starting at dusk behind Riverstone Plaza, which is located between Reinhardt College Parkway and Riverstone Boulevard.
