Canton To Host Ribbon Cutting For New Playground
The new equipment was installed at Brown Park.

CANTON, GA -- The city of Canton will host a ribbon cutting next week to celebrate new playground equipment installed at a local park.
The event honoring the new structure at Brown Park will be held at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20.
The city's Brown Park Playground Project began with a budget of $55,000 and was selected by the Resurgens Charitable Foundation to receive a $30,000 grant.

Thanks to that grant, the Canton Parks and Recreation Department will have the chance to invest the additional funds from the project towards other park improvement initiatives.
Brown Park is named after former Georgia Governor Joseph E. Brown, who served from 1857 to 1865. In the center of the park stands a marble monument honoring those who served in the Civil War, World War I and World War II
