Canton Man, 43, Dies in Motorcycle Accident

A 43-year-old Canton resident died late Thursday evening in a single-vehicle accident north of Canton.

The accident occurred 11:34 p.m. Aug. 27 when a 2005 Harley Davidson operated by Larry Owen Barber was traveling northbound on Ball Ground Highway and veered onto the right shoulder, the Georgia State Patrol said.
Barber “lost control and was ejected from the motorcycle as he was attempting to re-enter the roadway,” a spokesperson with the agency said.

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services noted in its press release that the wreck occurred near York Drive in the Keithsburg community. A passerby found Barber in the roadway and called 911.
