Here are the top five stories in Canton-Sixes today:

  1. A Canton man was arrested for armed robbery on Tuesday. Marcus Paul Milford, 52, was arrested on one count of Armed Robbery for a crime that occurred at a Dawsonville, Georgia, CVS Pharmacy in 2015. Milford was also identified as the person responsible for a 2014 Blairsville, Georgia CVS Pharmacy armed robbery. Both robberies included the theft of prescription pills. 2. A Northwestern campus art exhibition is displaying works by students from the Class of 2022, including Canton's own Geena Vetula. Vetula is an oil painter and graphic designer planning to pursue graphic design and brand design after graduation. She noted one of her favorite parts of the showcase is seeing how each classmate's unique style has grown over the last four years. (Northwestern Now)
  3. The Rotary Club of Canton recently hosted its annual Summer Lunch Build with MUST Ministries. Dozens of volunteers joined club members to pack 2,500 meals to feed 250 children in the community — all packed in less than 30 minutes! Each pack contained five days' worth of breakfast, lunch, snacks, and drinks. The Club sought to ensure no child in the community would be hungry this summer. Other special groups joined in on the volunteering as well, including Impact Soccer and the Born to Shine Optimist Club. (Rotary Club of Canton via Facebook)

Off to college in the fall, Chavez-Mejia plans to study digital marketing at the University of North Georgia and pursue a career as a marketing manager.
