Canton Man Charged In Shooting, Stabbing Of Teens

Two teens were found injured inside of a car Wednesday at Hickory Knoll and Oakside drives.

CANTON, GA — An 18-year-old man is facing charges after being accused of shooting one teen and stabbing another Wednesday in the area of Hickory Knoll and Oakside drives, Canton Police said Thursday.

Jacob Garcia, of Canton, is charged on suspicion of two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony, police said.

Police responded to a firearm discharge call around 1 p.m. at Hickory Knoll and Oakside, where two teen boys were found inside of a car, police said.

One of the boys, a 17-year-old, had a gunshot wound in his pelvis and was in stable condition at a local hospital. The other teen, a 15-year-old, was found with lacerations to his left arm and received medical treatment at a hospital, police said.

Garcia was arrested around 7:15 p.m. at his Hospital Road home without incident, police said. He was taken to the Cherokee County Detention Center, police said.
