Canton Man Stops For Hot Dog, Wins $1 Million Georgia Lottery Prize

A Canton man, who recently topped off a hotdog he purchased with a colossal prize from the Georgia Lottery, will relish his lucky experience.

Virgil Goddard won a $1 million prize playing the instant game $10 Million Cash Spectacular while on a weekend hunting trip in middle Georgia.

Goddard stopped at E Z Trip at 1054 S. Highway 247 in Kathleen to purchase hotdogs and the instant ticket.

“I scratched it in the truck,” Goddard said. “I saw all of those zeros, and I was just excited.”

Georgia Lottery representatives presented the lucky winner with an oversized check Wednesday at CITGO Food and Gas Mart, 2000 Marietta Highway in Canton, a location closer to home.

“I’m going to enjoy life, and that includes more hunting, too,” Goddard quipped.

The Georgia Lottery instant game $10 Million Cash Spectacular is loaded with cash prizes, including top prizes of up to $1 million and $10 million.

Players can enter non-winning tickets into the $10 Million Cash Spectacular Extra Chance Promotion for a second chance to win $10 million.
