Canton Music Shoppe Brings Tunes Closer to Home

Editor's note: Canton Music Shoppe, located at 149 Reinhardt College Parkway Suite 11, has opened to the public. The store sells new, used and vintage musical instruments, gives music lessons and repairs instruments. It also buys or consigns instruments.  

Patch asked Owner Leslie Colaco about her new business, and she provided these answers. 

1. Why did you decide to open up shop in Canton? We chose to open our store in Canton because we felt there was a need for a full service music store in this area. Most folks have had to travel to Woodstock and further south for lessons, supplies, repairs and rentals, or to purchase instruments. The response from most people who find out we are here is, "Wow! Now we don’t have to drive so far."

Now Canton, Holly Springs, Ball Ground, and even Jasper (residents) have a full-service music store right in their own backyard.

2. What makes your store unique? Our goal is to assist our customers in making their musical dreams a reality. So, whether it is finding that perfect guitar, learning to play an instrument for the first time, or polishing your skills for an upcoming gig, we are here to help. We are a small business so we want to provide a fun, caring atmosphere for our customers and students.

3. How did you get into this line of work? Our store manager, Adam Davenport, is a professional musician, music instructor, and a certified Luthier. Adam has worked at several music retail establishments around Atlanta, and his knowledge along with our vision, became Canton Music Shoppe. Adam’s complete biography is on our website, along with the bios of some of our other instructors.

4. Why should Canton residents come out and patronize your store? We hope to become Canton's hometown music shop. We have a wide selection of guitars, basses, and other instruments, as well as amps, gear and music supplies.  We have rooms for lessons and a comfortable waiting area with free wifi. We are conveniently located in the RiverStone Village shopping plaza with plenty of free parking. We are happy to help, and if we don’t have what you need, we will help you find it. We’re here to make your musical dreams a reality.
