Canton Named Georgia's Most Beautiful Town
The city surpassed Athens, Blairsville, Helen and Dahlonega to take the top spot on the list created by The Culture Trip.

Cherokee County’s seat has been named the most beautiful city in the Peach State.
The Culture Trip has given Canton its top honor on the 10 Most Beautiful Towns in Georgia. The complete list includes:

Writer Sophia White notes these top 10 cities “show the best of colonial USA and the South.”
Specifically, Canton rests on the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountain “in the heart of what used to be the Cherokee nation.”

She notes the city’s downtown is home to a number of attractions that pay homage to the county’s past and celebrates its culture, notably the Cherokee County Historical Society and the Cherokee Arts Center.
“Its growth over the past 10 years has been bolstered by its thriving social and cultural scene as well as its high standards of living, which is the perfect complement between traditional and modern living and Heritage Trails and nature hikes which enable easy-to-access outdoor activities and stunning natural vistas,” she writes.
