Canton Teen Charged With Robbery
The 17-year-old victim said the suspect allegedly hit him in the face and stole his property before fleeing on foot.

A Canton teenager is facing felony charges after he allegedly assaulted and robbed another teen last week.

Police have charged Robert Phillip Robish, 17, with robbery by sudden force or snatching, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, violating the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, possession of a weapon by a person under the age of 18, carrying a concealed weapon, battery and probation violation.
Canton police were dispatched around 9:45 p.m. Thursday, July 23 to Lancaster Ridge Apartments on Hickory Knoll Drive in response to an assault.

Officers were met with the 17-year-old victim, ”who stated he had been struck in the face by the suspect,” the agency said in its press release.
The victim said Robish allegedly took property from him and fled the scene on foot. Although police say it was not used during the incident, witnesses said Robish was allegedly in possession of a handgun at the time of the incident.
Robish was arrested Friday, July 24 at his home and booked into the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center. Lt. Jay Baker with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office said Robish remains held without bond at the facility.
