Canton Teen Killed In Cherokee County Crash

BREAKING: The accident was reported early Saturday morning on Ball Ground Highway north of Canton.

CANTON, GA -- A 17-year-old Canton resident died early Saturday morning in a single vehicle crash along Ball Ground Highway just north of the city.

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office said the accident was reported near Evergreen Road, which is north of Fate Conn Road.

The vehicle, a Jeep Cherokee driven by 20-year-old Tyler Callahan of Jasper, left the roadway and collided with a tree, sheriff's office spokesperson Sgt. Marianne Kelley.

The 17-year-old passenger, whose name is not being released at this time, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kelley said the driver sustained no serious injuries.
