Canton Teens Charged in Christmas Day Armed Robbery
Three teenagers and an adult are accused of robbing two 15-year-old boys in the Prominence Point Parkway area.

Three teenagers and one adult have been charged in the armed robbery of two other teenagers on Christmas Day in Canton.
Canton police have charged Jayquan M. Cromartie, 20, of Canton, Damarcus S. Jones, 18, of Canton, a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old with armed robbery, which occurred just after 7 p.m. Christmas Day.
According to the agency’s press release, officers responded to a suspicious activity call just after 7 p.m. in the Prominence Point Parkway area. Officers arrived onto the scene and met with two 15-year-old boys who said they were allegedly robbed at gunpoint of their cell phones.

A be-on-the-lookout alert was given to surrounding agencies, and a sergeant with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office spotted two men on foot who matched the description of the suspects.
Officers with the Canton Police Department arrived and conducted what’s called a ”show-up” line up, which one of the victims were able to positively identify the two men of interest as suspects in the case.

Officers and deputies with the sheriff’s office also located BB guns used and cell phones allegedly stolen in the case. Canton detectives also conducted interviews and were able to track down the other two suspects in the case.
Canton police spokesperson Officer Pacer Cordry said detectives are working to determine if the incident is isolated or related to other armed robberies in the city.
