Canton to Offer Shredding, Recycling

4. Need something shredded? A company will be at on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. to shred just about anything: credit cards, CDs, photographs, binders, documents and more. The charge is $3 for each copy paper size box of paper that is shredded.

5. At the same time and place, the city, in conjunction with Waste Management and Cherokee County, will collect a number of electronics that you'd like to recycle. While many items will be accepted at no charge, it will cost $10 to unload televisions. Console/projection televisions, washers/dryers, vacuum cleaners, humidifiers, refrigerators, washers, car batteries, toaster ovens, gas powered tools, tires, battery powered tools, freezers, blenders, household trash, mixers and ovens will not be accepted.
