Canton Toddler Found Dead; Woman Charged

CANTON, GA — A 40-year-old woman is charged after Canton Police found a female toddler dead Wednesday in a Hearthstone Landing Drive home, police said.

Officers responded around 4:15 p.m., when they found the body inside of the home, police said.

The body was taken to the GBI Crime Lab for an identification and to determine the cause of death, police said.

Police did not specify how the toddler died.

Phillissa Diallo is charged on suspicion of concealing the death of another person and second degree cruelty to children in connection with the case, police said. She was taken to the Cherokee County Detention Center.
