Canton Woman, 18, Charged With Murder of Teenager

Detectives with the Cobb County Police Department have charged an 18-year-old Canton woman in connection to the stabbing death of an Acworth teenager.

Olivia Smith, 18, of Canton, was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with felony murder, the agency said Saturday in its press release.

Cobb police responded to a person stabbed call around 8:49 a.m. Nov. 14 at a home in the 3100 block of Blowing Wind Court in unincorporated Acworth.

When officers arrived to the home, they found the body of a woman lying in the yard of the residence, Cobb police said.

Police say the victim, identified as 17-year-old Abbey Hebert of Acworth, was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the incident.

Smith, who was also located near the scene, was detained for questioning. She was subsequently transported to the Cobb County Adult Detention Center where she’s being held without bond.
