CCSD Releases 2018 High School Varsity Football Schedules
The first games of the high school varsity football season are on Friday, Aug. 17.

CANTON, GA — Classes are back in session in Cherokee County, and football fans will soon be able to return to the stadiums of their area high schools and cheer on the favorite home teams.
Scrimmages kick off next week, and the regular season begins Friday, Aug. 17 for the six high school varsity football teams in the Cherokee County School District. Each of the six schools play scrimmage games on Friday, Aug. 10: Cherokee at Creekview; Lambert at Etowah; Woodstock at River Ridge; and Sequoyah at South Forsyth.
On the first day of the 2018-19 season, the Cherokee Warriors will travel to face off against its counterparts at North Forsyth High School while the Creekview Grizzlies will host Cambridge High School at home. The River Ridge Knights will travel across town to take on the Etowah Eagles and the Woodstock Wolverines will visit North Cobb High School for its first game of the season. The first game for the Sequoyah Chiefs, set for Aug. 24, will be against Cherokee High School in Canton.
