According to its website, students learn more about the region through field trips and visits to areas within the 10-county ARC. Students taking part in MARC "practice effective leadership, communication and collaboration skills through the development of actionable ideas and efforts to promote positive change in our region," the website goes on to state.
Issues these students learn more about are public art, community planning, transportation and transit and natural resource sustainability, just to name a few. Counties in the ARC are: Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry and Rockdale counties and the city of Atlanta.
