- The Celebrity All Star Band is coming to Etowah River Park on Saturday, Jun. 18, as part of the River Rock Concert Series. This is a free and family-friendly concert series at Etowah River Park in the amphitheater from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Bring your family, friends, lawn chairs, and coolers (no glass, please!), and enjoy the event! - The Cherokee County School District has announced its CCSD 2022 Support Staff Employee of the Year! The CCSD sends its congratulations to Beth Major of Liberty Elementary School in Canton for being named a CCSD 2022 Support Staff Employee of the Year! (Press Release Desk)
- Canton native Luke Berryhill's first love is baseball as Hooks catcher, but that isn't stopping him from being an aspiring country singer. The promising Houston Astros prospect keeps his guitar handy just in case he wants to serenade his teammates or show off his talent as an aspiring country music singer. The Canton native was traded to the Houston Astros organization in January 2021 and quickly began padding his resume as a talented catcher and musician. Berryhill recently sang the national anthem for the Hooks during a memorable Memorial Day weekend at Whataburger Field. (Caller Times)

- Cherokee County shared a progress photo of the construction at LB "Buzz" Ahrens Recreation Center, located at Cherokee County Veterans Park. This building will soon be a 33,000 sq ft state-of-the-art facility with two full-sized basketball courts, cardio/fitness area, multiple classrooms, a dance studio, a large banquet hall with a full catering kitchen, and a rock-climbing wall in the main atrium. - Did you know that the Cherokee Family Violence Center provides a Move-In Welcome Kit to all new families when they move into its apartments?
