Cherokee Co. Blaze Destroys Waleska Business
The blaze forced multiple spot fires in the nearby wood line and spread to golf carts in the area.
WALESKA, GA — There were no injures in a Thursday morning fire at Garland Mountain Sporting Clays and Grill in Waleska, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services said.
When crews arrived around 4:15 a.m. to the Garland Mountain Trail business, the majority of the building was burnt on the ground with the fire extending to nearby golf carts, fire officials said.
Multiple spot fires occurred in the woods surrounding the property, fire officials said.

Cherokee County released an 11-second video clip that shows the destruction left by the fire.
Pickens County firefighters and Georgia Forestry assisted Cherokee County with the fire response. There were no injuries in the fire.

The Georgia Police K9 Foundation was set to host a fundraiser Friday at Garland Mountain, but the foundation announced Thursday morning that the fundraiser is being rescheduled due to the fire.
"Please keep the business owners and workers in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time," the foundation said in a Facebook post.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
