Cherokee Commemorates Sept. 11 With Patriot's Day Events
The city of Woodstock and Cherokee County's public safety agencies will host two events to honor the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001.

Cherokee County residents on Thursday will have two opportunities to honor the nearly 3,000 people who were killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists attacks.
The county’s public safety agencies will hold a Patriot’s Day ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 11 at the Cherokee County Public Safety Memorial in downtown Canton.
The memorial sits between the Cherokee County Justice Center and the historic courthouse. The event’s keynote speaker will be SFC Scott McElroy.

Later in the day, the city of Woodstock will join forces with the Woodstock Jaycees to host its 9/11 Day of Remembrance.,
The event will get underway at 7 p.m. at the Park at City Center in downtown Woodstock.
