Cherokee County Fair Starts Tuesday

The 88th annual Cherokee County Fair will return to Canton next week.

This year’s fair will be held Tuesday, Sept. 16 through Sunday, Sept. 21 at the American Legion Post 45 Fairgrounds, located at 160 McClure Street.

The fair, sponsored by the Canton-based American Legion post, will feature rides and amusements from Peachtree Rides. Gates will open at 5 p.m. Tuesday, 3 pm. Wednesday, 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Admission is free for children six and under; $1 for children 6 to 10 years of age; $2 for children aged 11 to 16, $4 for those between the age of 16 and 64 and $1 for those 65 and older.

This year’s fair will also include a Youth Dog Show, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 18 and the Miss Cherokee Fair Pageant. The pageant is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20.
