Cherokee Deputies Recognized For 'Going Above and Beyond' Duties

Twelve deputies with the sheriff's office were commended during Tuesday's County Commission meeting.

A dozen deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office were recognized on Tuesday for ”going above and beyond their everyday service to the community,” the agency said in a press release.

The 12 deputies were commended during Tuesday’s Cherokee County Commission meeting. Corporal Jordan Strong and deputies Bryan Ledford, Matthew Butler, Jeffrey Henley and Lance Wright received Life Saving Awards.

Sgt. David Barone, Sgt. Wayne Turner and deputies Richard Pike, Lauren Denson, Thomas Hult, Jeff Hardt and George Greene received Sheriff’s Commendation Awards.

Cherokee County Sheriff Roger Garrison presented the deputies the awards in front the commissioners and the public during the meeting.
